The prototype 2.0 was milled on Friday and successfully passed the quality check.
The Villa VOON- monolithic wood construction, adhesive and metal free, finally 100% sustainable. The basic element of the construction system is a wooden post made of spruce, which measures 20/5 centimeters in cross-section.
The constructive plug-in system for building a wooden house does entirely without glue and metal. The base element is the spruce wooden post with a cross section of 20 cm by 5 cm. The posts are put together with connecting profiles made of ash wood into beams ….
This was the premiere of VillaVOON at the Lebensraummesse in Graz! We were very pleased to welcome you! An incredibly fantastic start with over 45 concrete enquiries, 3 orders and over 500 brochures taken … we did not expect such an extraordinarily positive response – we are grateful and are getting down to work for a more relaxed living experience.

Did you know that the oldest spruce in the world is 9,550 years old? The Old Tjikko is five meters high, located in the national park in Fulufjället in Sweden and belongs to the common spruces. Researchers believe that it was first a crooked wood formation that developed a trunk 600 years ago. The age of the tree was determined by radiocarbon dating of the root system under the tree.

Have you ever wondered what exactly moon wood or moon-phase wood is? This is wood that has been felled with the forestry lunar calendar in mind. If the trees are felled around Christmas time or at the beginning of March when the moon is waning just before the new moon, their wood is considered to be particularly stable, durable, fire-resistant and resistant to pests.

The pile construction – which is also used at VillaVOON – has a well-tried tradition in our world and is not new. But who would have guessed that the roots go back to the Neolithic Age? There is evidence of the first pile dwellings in the Alpine region 3,000 to 8,000 years ago. These original wooden houses were built on rivers, in lakes or in swamps.

It is not without reason that Styria is called the green heart of Austria. Around 850 million trees stand on an area of exactly 1,006 million hectares in the most densely-wooded federal state, so each inhabitant has an incredible 700 trees, 70 percent of which are pinewood.

The Styrian forest needs 2 minutes to produce the raw material for a VillaVOON – exactly 70 trees. The positive side effect: With the Villa you not only choose a natural lifestyle, but also give something back to the earth. One cubic meter of wood stores one ton of CO2 and has a positive effect on climate protection.

Shou Sugi Ban – sounds exciting? It is! This is the name of the centuries-old tradition from Japan used to seal the wood on the facade. And it is really fiery! After all, wood is charred, then brushed and finally treated with natural oil. The result: a completely natural surface that is completely waterproof, antibacterial and resistant to pests such as insects and fungi.
